The goal of the PhD was to use rock uplift rates in the Turkish Central Pontides to demonstrate the landscape response to uplift and climate. To provide age estimates for the rock uplift rates, we used Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating of fluvial sediments overlying strath terraces.
These were early works in my PhD research, so the story was not yet final. Because the PhD had a great budget in the early years, we were encouraged to use it for scientific outreach. However, our results were at best preliminary. Some data corrections and better interpretations were made later in the scientific review process.
